Roermond / Aruba – May 30, 2025
Today marks exactly twenty years since Natalee Holloway mysteriously disappeared during a high school graduation trip to Aruba. A case that captured global attention, yet despite decades of media coverage, countless investigations, and even a confession, true closure remains elusive.
As a former police investigation chief and now a licensed private investigator for over ten years, I, John Vullers, have been actively re-investigating this complex case since the summer of 2023, together with Karin Jansen – who, at the time of Natalee’s disappearance, was the chief public prosecutor responsible for the case in Aruba.
Now retired, Karin remains deeply involved. Despite stepping down from her official duties, her dedication to this case has never faded. For both of us, this is more than a cold case. It’s a matter of justice, truth, and respect for Natalee’s family – even if they remain convinced of Joran van der Sloot’s guilt.
Although Joran van der Sloot is currently incarcerated and has confessed, we are far from convinced by the narrative as it stands. Our independent investigation – grounded in facts, signals, and significant gaps still present in the original case file – has only deepened our doubts rather than confirmed the official version.
That is exactly why this case continues to deserve – and receive – our full attention.
We believe that truth has no expiration date. Every missing person deserves to be found, and every family deserves answers.
This case is not a closed chapter.
It is an open wound – and we will continue to search for the connections, the explanations, and the real story.
