De Duitse politie heeft een internationale bende opgerold die peperdure luxe auto\u2019s smokkelde. De bolides werden deels opgeslagen in Groningen en onder meer via de Rotterdamse haven naar Dubai verscheept. Een 66-jarige Nederlander, die de bende leidde, is opgepakt. De politie in Osnabr\u00fcck (deelstaat Nedersaksen) deed sinds 2018 onderzoek naar de autosmokkelbende, in samenwerking met de Nederlandse politie en Europol. Ze kwamen de bende op het spoor na een golf van diefstallen van luxe auto\u2019s in de regio Osnabr\u00fcck en de deelstaat Noordrijn-Westfalen. De politie linkt de bende aan zeker 32 diefstallen in verschillende deelstaten, met een totale waarde van zo\u2019n 2,5 miljoen euro. Het gaat onder meer om een Mercedes AMG GT R special edition (waarde circa 230.000 euro), een Porsche Carrera 4 GTS (130.000 euro), een Mercedes S 560 E (110.000 euro) en een BMW X5 M50d (100.000 euro).<\/p>\n

De auto\u2019s werden tijdelijk in garages opgeslagen, onder meer in Groningen, waar ze klaargemaakt werden voor de verkoop.\u00a0Volgens de politie hebben de dieven een groot deel van de gestolen voertuigen met vervalste documenten via de Rotterdamse haven naar Dubai verscheept. Andere auto\u2019s zijn via autobeurzen en helers in Duitsland verhandeld en via een autoverhuurbedrijf in Frankrijk doorverkocht.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

De bende ging zeer professioneel te werk, aldus de politie. Niet alleen werden kentekenbewijzen vervalst, maar ook de identificatienummers op de voertuigen. De taken werden verdeeld. Sommigen zorgden voor de verkoop van de voertuigen, het vervalsen van de voertuigpapieren, het huren van opslagplaatsen en het verschepen. Anderen hielden zich bezig met de diefstal. ,,Maar het Nederlandse meesterbrein had alle touwtjes in handen\u201d, aldus de Duitse politie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In totaal zijn dertien bendelenden ge\u00efdentificeerd. De 66-jarige bendeleider is recent in het Groningse Ter Apelkanaal opgepakt. Daarbij stuitte de politie bij toeval op een bedrijfspand met een illegale sigarettenfabriek met 1,5 miljoen sigaretten.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Een tweede kopstuk van de bende is opgepakt in Litouwen. Daar vond de politie bij een huiszoeking zo\u2019n 400.000 euro aan contant geld en 60 vervalste kentekenbewijzen.\u00a0Beiden worden uitgeleverd aan Duitsland.
