Problemen met de overheden stonden nog in de weg dat de aangetroffen gestolen auto&#8217;s weer terug konden worden gebracht naar Nederland. De uit dit onderzoek naar voren gekomen informatie werd met de politie gedeeld en resulteerde mede tot de aanhouding van een &#8222;spil&#8220; figuur, een 43 jarige man uit Laren. \u00a0Zie ook ons bericht <em>&#8222;Karrenvrachten gestolen auto&#8217;s naar West Afrika&#8220;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>26Worland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Onder de naam 26Worland startte de politie Dienst Infrastructuur van de Landelijke Eenheid samen met het OM een onderzoek naar de betrokkenheid van de verdachte bij de uitvoer van gestolen of verduisterde auto&#8217;s in zeecontainers naar Ghana en Togo in west Afrika.<\/p>\n<p>Aanleiding was het aantreffen van enekele gestolen auto&#8217;s waarbij de verdachte in beeld kwam. Het betrof hier onder andere een Range rover, die al in een zeecontainer geparkeerd stond, en een BMW die beiden in Frankrijk waren gestolen, maar in Nederland werden getraceerd. De auto&#8217;s zouden in opdracht van het bedrijf van de verdachte naar Afrika worden verscheept. De man uit Laren wist natuurlijk van niets.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens het vervolg onderzoek wat hierop volgde, kreeg de politie zicht op een omvangrijke export operatie van gestolen of verduisterde auto&#8217;s via de haven van Antwerpen naar West Afrika. Uit onderzoek bleek dat de verdachte in de periode jan 2015 &#8211; 2017 verantwoordelijk was voor de export van zeker 50 gestolen of verduisterde auto&#8217;s naar West Afrika.
