De regiopolitie voert onderzoek maar een beetje tussendoor uit en het landelijke kunstteam stelt niet veel voor.&#8216; Hij neemt aan dat het schilderij al bij Interpol is aangemeld, &#8218;hoewel dat ook maar afhangt van de persoon die het onderzoek leidt&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>De kans dat de Rembrandt op een veiling opduikt, waarop de politie hoopt, is volgens <strong>Vullers<\/strong> klein. &#8218;Meestal blijft zo&#8217;n werk in het criminele circuit bij iemand met veel geld die het gewoon in bezit wil hebben.&#8216; Aangezien er geen andere schilderijen zijn verdwenen, vermoedt hij dat het om een gerichte diefstal gaat.<\/p>\n<p>Lida Dijkstra van de database gestolenkunst.nl ziet kunst soms ook als ruilmiddel optreden in het criminele circuit.
